Stairsteps Metal Wall Sculpture

Stairstep metal wall sculptures are among my favorites: I like the feeling of movement as they rise on the wall. This page shows only my copper artwork, but I can do these designs in any metal – aluminum, bronze, steel, stainless and brass. A stairstep wall sculpture is excellent metal art decor for a flight of stairs or a family room. Stairstep copper artwork designs are very similar to diamond designs, but leveled to the 0-90 degree axis.

You can see that qualities of grace, balance, beauty and harmony are integral to my artwork. I think of these wall art sculpture designs as being Music For the Eyes. My concept is that they must be tuned perfectly, just as a song must be arranged exactly right and the instruments that play the song my be tuned precisely right. Every element of a metal wall sculpture must work with all the other elements: the dimensions of each piece, the width of the pieces, the patinas, the overall balance of solid piece with open areas. When lit, whether from inside lighting or a window, the shadows cast by the lighting adds an additional layer to the sculpture, which changes as the lighting changes. Very cool.

An excellent example of a Stairstep metal wall sculpture was installed at the Schlumberger headquarters, in Houston, TX on the wall above and behind the front receptionist’s desk. You can see it on the Art Display 3 page.

I primarily do customized work for my clients – something wider, bigger, smaller, bluer, greener, browns & golds but no reds, etc.
