Wall Sculptures - Rectangles on Rectangles
These are some of the open designs I've finished in the last few years. Open designs are built up from individual pieces and allow you to see the wall through the openings in the piece, as well as the shadows cast by the lighting on the piece. Strong shadows add an illusion of extra depth and add to the drama of the wall sculpture.
Some of these images also include close-ups of details. Click on the small image to take you to the larger images and the detail close-ups.

| Triptych #1 installed on a 20' wall 1.25" wide pieces |
Thunderbird Copper with brazing and fire patina 85 x 50 x 5 |
| Big Blue Rectangles 51"x85"x5" 1.5" wide pieces |
Diamonds 1 34"x61"x5" 1.25" wide pieces |
Puzzles are a dominant theme I like to play with. All of these wall sculptures have started out as one single whole piece of copper. After I apply the brass and/or patina, I cut them up and reassemble them into a higher, more aesthetically appealing state of order.

I can do most of these designs for you in 8 different styles:
1. Natural bright clean wire-brushed copper
2. Melted brass on copper with mottled reds, browns, oranges - salt/fire colored
3. Natural blue - this is copper treated with ammonia vapors
and salt
4. Natural green - this is copper treated with an acid chloride solution
5. Melted brass on copper with Brown/Rust colors - this is another natural flame
color but there is minimal mottling and little or no red
6. Aluminum - clean bright silver color with an attractive
brushed finish
7. Painted - tell me the colors you want, give me paint chips
to match and I will do an interesting abstract painting, mount it on wood and
do one of these wall sculptures for you with the cut-out pieces.
8. I could also take a print of some other painting, decoupage it to the wood or aluminum then cut out the shapes and fabricate the sculpture.
